The National Environmental Science Program (NESP) is a long-term commitment by the Australian Government to environment and climate research.

NESP projects deliver collaborative, practical and applied research to inform decision making and on-ground action.

Conservation of natural values, including threatened vegetation types and threatened species, on private land through the establishment of perpetual conservation agreements on land title.

The Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) supports private land conservation in NSW to deliver a healthy, productive and resilient environment across NSW.

Saving our Species is the NSW Government’s flagship threatened species conservation program. This innovative state-wide program seeks to maximise the number of threatened species that are secure in the wild in NSW.

The Biodiversity Indicator Program tracks the status of biodiversity and ecosystem integrity in NSW over time.

The Biodiversity Credit Exchange gives eligible landholders access to funding for the purpose of protecting, managing and restoring areas of high conservation value on their property. The payments to landholders incorporates the incurred costs of protecting areas of native vegetation and generates a biodiversity credit.

South Australia has an ongoing program to periodically publish Trend and Condition Report Cards that track the change in condition of the State's natural resources.

The Tharwa Fish Habitat Project used engineered log jams to improve fish habitat in the river adjacent to Tharwa and also augmented some existing constructed rock groynes (outcrops of rock). The log jams were made of interlocking hardwood logs and rock.
